A rare fissure mineral in a metamorphosed Fe-Mn orebody (Langban, Sweden); in a sedimentary Fe-Mn deposit (Iron Monarch quarry, Australia).

Locality:

Name Origin:

From "arsenic" and the Greek for "breaking," for its excellent cleavage.
