Location: Christmas Mine, Gila County, Arizona, USA. Scale: Crystal size 2.5 mm.

Dioptase: CuSiO2(OH)2

Comments: Fibrous crystals of blue-green dioptase to 0.75mm on clear apophyllite associated with dark blue kinoite.

Kinoite: Ca2Cu2Si3O8(OH)4

Comments: Kinoite crystals as single tabular or platy blue crystals to about 0.3mm and as fan-like sprays. The crystals exhibit striations, a key to distinguishing it from stringhamite.
